Library of the Institute of Archaeology
The library of the Institute of Archaeology offers about 40 workstations, including three computer workstations, a research computer as well as printers and scanners, which are available to the users of the library. In addition, a free WLAN network is available in all rooms, which enables research on the Internet and thus also book data searches in the Cologne University Catalog (KUG) or the catalog of the University and City Library (UB).
The library's holdings include numerous works dealing with Classical Archaeology, the Archaeology of the Roman Provinces, and other associated subject areas.
A focus in Classical Archaeology is on topography, building research, sculpture and reception history. The collection of Archaeology of the Roman Provinces has its main focus on the Roman northwestern provinces, but is continuously expanding to other provinces.
The library also holds approximately 530 journal series, some of which have been completed. The holdings of monographs and periodicals are constantly being expanded and updated. Thus, current research is also represented and available in the library.
If you have any questions or problems, the student assistants are available to help library users in room 103. The room is manned continuously during the opening hours of the library and offers users not only assistance but also a selection of electronics for presentations in the context of the seminars and lectures of the Archaeological Institute.
Scanner: during opening hours in room 115
Rooms: 104-108, 113, 115-117, 1st floor (room plan)
