KLIPS is the campus management system of the University of Cologne (Cologne teaching, information and examination service).
KLIPS contains the online course curriculum, is used for management of teaching and examination, and for the management of available rooms.
It allows students to plan their curriculum and studies online, register for courses and exams, as well as print study and enrollment certificates in the Self-Service area.
If you are a student, please log in with your S-Mail-Account so you can access all functions.
Applicants have to set up an applicant-account.

FAQ
How do I register for courses?
When/Where can I view my participation/study performance?
Attendance/study achievements are automatically booked for all participants of the course (fixed place list) approx. 4 weeks after the end of the lecture period. Earlier booking is technically not possible! The booking can be delayed for individual courses that take place after the end of the lecture period (e.g. excursions or block courses). After booking, the services appear in your Curriculum Support in the column "Services".
In addition, you can display a list of all your previously completed achievements as well as the existing module assignments under "CS - Display - Achievements". Achievements that have been completed without a module context also appear here.
Can I move participation/study credits already posted to another module?
Why can't I see my participation/study performance in my Klips2.0 account?
Attendance/study achievements are automatically booked for all participants of the course (fixed place list) approx. 4 weeks after the end of the lecture period. If the service does not appear in your overview "CS - Display - Services", you may not have been correctly registered on the fixed place list of the course or you may have been deregistered from the course by the lecturer before the booking of the participation. Therefore, please check whether you are registered on the fixed place list of the course. If this is not the case, please contact the respective lecturer(s) of the course.
How do I register for a module exam?
Deadlines MP registration / deregistration
The exact time slots for registering and deregistering for module exams will be posted in the Archaeology Department at the beginning of each semester and sent out via the newsletter (sign up for the newsletter here: https://lists.uni-koeln.de/mailman/listinfo/archinst-info).
The deadline for submitting written work (term papers, etc.) is 15.03. in the winter semester and 15.09. in the summer semester. Deregistration is possible until one day before (14.03./14.09.).
What is the scope of a module exam?
The scope and the examination form of module examinations may vary - depending on the module. For the module examinations of the Archaeological Institute, you will find the specific details for each individual module examination when registering for the examination in Klips2.0. If you are unsure, please contact the respective examiner(s).
How do I log out of an MP?
What happens if I don't opt out of an MP that I don't want/can't complete?
Please be sure to cancel your registration in good time if you cannot/won't take the exam and also inform your examiner(s). Otherwise, there is a possibility that this examination attempt will be graded with 5.0!
Can I take a module exam at a later date?
Module examinations on the material of a specific course can be completed over a period of three semesters in consultation with the lecturer authorized to conduct the examinations. However, it is essential that you consult with your examiner if you intend to hand in your module at a later date!
Why can't I see the grade of a completed module exam and the credit points for the module in my Klips2.0 account?
After the examiner has entered the performance in Klips2.0, it must be sent to the examination office and confirmed. Only then will the grade be visible to you in Klips2.0.
The credit points for a module are only calculated by the system when you have successfully completed the corresponding module in its entirety (including all module parts).
What happens if I have chosen a supplementary module that I no longer wish to take?
In the elective area you have the possibility to choose between different modules. You can make this choice independently in Klips2.0. Taking a course in Klips2.0 does not mean that you have been assigned to a compulsory elective course. However, as soon as you are registered for a course at the end of the semester or register for an MP, you will be assigned to the corresponding compulsory elective area. Therefore, in your own interest, please withdraw in a timely manner from courses in which you no longer wish to participate.
Should you decide to take another module in the elective compulsory area after having booked performances or having registered for the MP in the module, the subsequent cancellation of the original choice can only be made by the staff of the examination office!
