- Born and raised in Free Germany (Sauerland)
- Moved to Cologne for studies, remained ever since
- Study of Classical Archaeology, Prehistoric Archaeology and Ancient History, which has been completed with M.A. thesis on “The iconography of Priapus” (1990)
- From 1990 onwards Photographer at the Archaeological Institute at the University of Cologne, at the beginning as a part-time job, later a full-time job
- Has tried ever since to connect and reconcile the love for Archaeology with the photographical needs of day-to-day life
